Why Do I Hate You When Everyone Loves You?

A free verse poem of differential opinions

Your charming smile is enticing the world,
what a beautiful sight to see those lips curled.

People go nuts to have a look at you,
your face as if will take them through.

But I don't feel even close to what they feel,
sorry, but I don't have that amount of zeal.

It irks me to even see your name,
I often wonder if you deserve that fame.

People love you like you're one of them,
their trust lying at the edge of your hem.

I wish they knew your selfish games,
Their trust would rather ash into flames.

How long will this go on, I wonder,
I guess I have to wait for that one blunder.

It’ll be soon when they see you for who you are,
Their feelings and mine would finally be on par.

Till then you can enjoy your selfish party,
Smile while people still call you a ‘smartie.’

Thank you for reading.
