What a heart-warming story this one is, Trista. Actually, I do believe that unprocessed feelings are not only dangerous for oneself but it can be equally detrimental to the society. I mean if you listen to interviews by hardcore criminals, they all have difficult childhoods and no one to talk to.

It's wonderful that you're teaching your son to regulate emotions. That more than half of your job done as a good parent. That's what will make him a good human rather than anything else.

And the line where you said about being parent to your own parents, touched my soul. Many people unknowingly do it but don't just realize it.

Our parents didn't have a culture where they could go and seek a therapy but we are now in the world where mental health is taken very seriously.

I am sure if they are game for it you could seek therapy for them or as you suggested get them busy with some creative work of their choice. This way they get a chance to get rid of all that toxicity that has been manifesting itself in their systems.

And to tell you something honestly, I am an empath just like you. But after a series of heartbreaks and humiliations, I stopped my heart on my sleeve. It hurts so much that people just stamp on it and leave. Not thinking for once that someone is being sensitive towards them and trying to help them come of the pit they are stuck in.

But this story of yours gave me a hope that I could use my sensitivity to heal others and that it could actually be my superpower.

Thanks a lot for sharing this gem with Moon Light Confessions, Trista. :)
