Viewing Maslow’s Theory From a Writers Perspective

Get an insight into various unexplained behavioral patterns

As a relatively new writer, I have been observing various patterns. These patterns are not only restricted to my writings, but also the topics I choose, the frequency at which I send them to publications, and the type of stories I choose to write. Some days I am in a mood to write poetry, some days I have an idea for short fiction, or some days I am just in for some research-based work.

However, these patterns occur in such a random manner that I was not able to study and make any sense out of them. I needed to know where I was headed as a writer? That will release the unnecessary pressure of self-burden I have been creating on myself. If only I had a proper justification for my erratic patterns, I would be in a much-informed place.

Maslow’s hierarchy of needs helps me do just that. This theory is the most popular one and the easiest to understand. Now, it's time to mold it to suit the needs of a writer.
