‘’Please let me go,
I am on my way home.’’

Pleaded the zookeeper.
A loud roar followed,
The lion finally cleared his way.

Zookeepers carry their lives up to their sleeves but we fail to acknowledge that. This poem is inspired by a recent incident where a zookeeper was on his way back home when he encountered a lion sitting in the middle of the road.

Luckily for him, the lion got up and went its way. But not all such encounters with big cats have happy endings.
