Happy International Tea Day!
Free verse poetry dedicated to all tea lovers around the world
Tea, tea, tea
I want some tea
Blue, black, or green
Please don't bother me
Just bring it on & let me see
If or not your guess is worthy of my fee.
An aromatic beverage
That came flying from China
Making the second-best drink
The world favors after water
Cure with fresh crispy leaves
Tea is a drink, that’s way above our league.
But Indians worship it as Chai Tea
A scintillating mix of ingredients
Milk, water, sugar, and some tea leaves
Stirred to life on slow flame
Arousing the person by its aroma
Bringing happiness to the drinker, guaranteed.
So have tea as and how you like
It was made to ensnare your senses
But don’t mistake it to be an ordinary drink
For it came to mend your fences
Drink it with your friends or family alike
And don’t forget to relish each sip of an aromatic strike.

May 21st is celebrated as International Tea Day. And being a tea lover myself, I couldn't help but dedicate one entire poem to my favorite beverage in the world.
Thank you for reading. :)
